DEFYING GRAVITY … Paul Nourigat is an independent singer-songwriter from Portland, Oregon, paddling downstream with an old guitar, creating original Americana music. He launched his musical journey in 2018, gifting himself his 1st guitar, a used $100 Stella, for his 60th birthday, prior to the Covid years.  Six albums and 53 originals later, that 6-string proved to be a worthy investment, and he's just getting started.

Timoth Delsalvo - Happy Magazine:While his sound ranges from toe-tapping to foot-stomping, what binds Nourigat’s artistry is his knack for thought-provoking and vivid storytelling. He is an artist who has clearly perfected his sound, and is more than willing to invite listeners into his blissful worldview.

Born into an American family in Taiwan, Paul relocated to Turkey, then Germany, and then onto the U.S., ultimately living in 12 homes before his adult years. Through this wide range of experiences, he gained an appreciation for various paths of life, leading to the truths, perspectives, and occasional humor found in his music.  His stories and deep vocals are fused in a multi-genre Americana vibe, with folk, country, rock, and blues treating listeners to musical variety around each album’s central theme.

He credits the rich musical compositions to a diverse group of instrumentalists he engages from around the world, including his hometown musical community.  Curious Directions, Paul's newest album (October '25) is filled with guitars, drums, pianos, and backing vocals from Oregon/musicians in the USA, France, Italy, Turkey,  Brazil, and England.  Paul's albums are mixed/mastered in Portland Oregon, his hometown, with the support of Producer Adam Selzer.

Eric Jarvis - The Hollywood Digest: Paul Nourigat has obviously harbored these talents for many years, but they’ve been unleashed upon the world now, and listeners will deem him an important new musical voice, especially in such troubled times.“

Beyond the 53 originals he has released, his deep pool of life experiences, and constant commitment to observe and learn, have allowed him to create a growing lyrics catalog of over 200 additional originals. He intends to record or share many of these in collaborations with established musicians in the years ahead.

Says Paul … ”I've lived a good life, and then out of nowhere, music grabbed me. It's like I've been reborn into this infinite universe which I did not know existed. I feel fortunate to have this chance so late in life, and appreciate people's interest in my music.”
